Josef Fares, the head of Hazelight Studios, recently shared exciting details about their upcoming game, Split Fiction, during an interview. Reiterating previous statements, Fares stressed Hazelight's unwavering commitment to avoiding live-service models and microtransactions. The studio has no plans to go public or be acquired by a larger company, focusing instead on delivering exceptional gaming experiences. Fares stated, "We're not going public. No microtransactions. We focus solely on delivering great gaming experiences."
In a conversation with MinnMax, Fares revealed that Split Fiction's core narrative clocks in at approximately 12-14 hours, comparable to the playtime of It Takes Two. With optional missions and extra content, players can anticipate a total playtime of 16-17 hours.
While Hazelight is known for its cooperative games, Fares hinted at the possibility of venturing into single-player titles in the future. He mentioned that Split Fiction's budget is double that of It Takes Two, yet the studio has chosen against post-launch DLC, ensuring all features are available from the game's release. Split Fiction launches worldwide on March 6th for PC, PS5, and Xbox Series X|S.
