Many *Monster Hunter: World* players voiced their disappointment with the game's weapon designs, sparking concerns about whether *Monster Hunter Wilds* would follow suit. While initial glimpses of *Wilds*' weapons were insufficient to draw definitive conclusions, Director Yuya Tokuda has addressed these concerns directly.
Regarding the Hope series armor and weapons, Tokuda explained: “In *Monster Hunter: World*, weapon designs generally maintained a similar base form, with variations based on the monster materials used. However, in *Wilds*, each weapon boasts a completely unique design.”
This statement directly contrasts *Monster Hunter: World*'s approach, reassuring players that *Wilds* weapons will exhibit greater diversity. While some *World* weapons evolved into unique forms through upgrades, many weapon lines retained significant similarities. The image below illustrates this, showcasing the striking resemblance between the final Aqua and Pukei-Pukei Sword and Shield, and the final Bone and Jyuratodus Long Swords—both examples representing the most upgraded versions at launch.
In contrast, the slideshow below presents *Monster Hunter Wilds*' weapons, each undeniably distinct in its design.
