This week, the developers of InZOI are taking a well-deserved break to celebrate the New Year, enjoying a three-day holiday in South Korea. Before heading off, the project lead, Hyungjun "Kjun" Kim, took the opportunity to share exciting updates about the features fans are eagerly requesting for the game. These insights provide a glimpse into what will be implemented and to what extent.
In InZOI, players will have the innovative ability to use real facial capture technology to create templates for crafting zois. This feature, which was highlighted as highly convenient in summer announcements, will be further simplified to streamline the zoi creation process, according to Kjun. Additionally, players will be able to have their own pets within the game, though this feature won't be available during the early access phase. Fans will need to wait a bit longer, but knowing that Kjun himself is a big animal lover adds a personal touch to this anticipated addition.
The game environment will include tall buildings, with a cap set at 30 floors. While the game engine theoretically supports higher constructions, this limitation has been put in place to address potential performance issues, ensuring a smoother gaming experience. InZOI will also feature gas stations and introduce combat scenarios. Kjun noted that the initial slap mechanic from early previews felt too shallow to players, so he listened to the feedback and enhanced the combat system. Now, the game will boast full-fledged fights, complete with winners and losers, adding depth and engagement to the gameplay.
Lastly, to cater to newcomers unfamiliar with the genre, InZOI will include a comprehensive tutorial. This thoughtful inclusion demonstrates the developers' commitment to ensuring an accessible and enjoyable experience for all players. As of now, Krafton plans to release InZOI in early access at the end of March, with no further delays currently expected.
