Kingdom Come Deliverance 2: Sales Near 2 Million

Embracer Group has announced the phenomenal success of Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2, revealing sales are nearing the 2 million mark. Just one day after its February 4th launch across PC, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series X|S, the game sold 1 million copies, nearly doubling that figure within ten days. This represents a remarkable achievement for developer Warhorse Studios, whose medieval RPG sequel has seen exceptional performance, particularly on Steam, where it boasted over 250,000 peak concurrent players—a significant leap from the original Kingdom Come: Deliverance's peak of 96,069 seven years prior. The actual peak concurrent player count is likely higher, considering console players are not included in the Steam data.

Embracer, parent company of Warhorse Studios via its subsidiary Plaion, lauded Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2's success, highlighting positive player and critical reception alongside strong sales figures. Embracer CEO Lars Wingefors stated the game's exceptional quality, immersive gameplay, and broad appeal are expected to generate substantial revenue over the coming years. A robust roadmap, including updates and new content over the next 12 months, will ensure continued engagement with the player community. Wingefors expressed immense pride in the teams involved, noting the game significantly exceeded initial expectations.

Beyond Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2, Embracer anticipates the release of Killing Floor 3 later this quarter (January-March 2025). The company boasts over 5,000 game developers working on its pipeline, with ten triple-A titles slated for release over the next three fiscal years (FY 2025/26, FY 2026/27, and FY 2027/28). Eight of these are from internal studios, and two from external partners. FY 2025/26 will see two triple-A releases towards the year's end, supplemented by several mid-size releases including Gothic 1 Remake, REANIMAL, Fellowship, Deep Rock Galactic: Rogue Core, Titan Quest II, Screamer, Echoes of the End (working title), Tides of Tomorrow, Satisfactory (console), and the full release of Wreckfest 2, along with additional unannounced mid-size titles.

Following recent restructuring, including staff reductions and studio sales (such as Gearbox and Saber Interactive), Embracer retains key studios, including 4A Games, currently developing a new entry in the Metro series.
