Unlocking the Four Endings in S.T.A.L.K.E.R. 2: Heart of Chornobyl
S.T.A.L.K.E.R. 2: Heart of Chornobyl offers four distinct endings, determined by player choices in three key missions: Subtle Matter, Dangerous Liaisons, and The Last Wish. Conveniently, these missions occur late in the game, allowing players to create a manual save after reaching Legends of the Zone and explore all endings without a full replay.
Below, we detail each ending and the crucial dialogue choices that lead to it.
She Will Never Be Free
- Subtle Matter: Choose "Life is for the living."
- Dangerous Liaisons: Choose "[Escape]."
- The Last Wish: Choose "[Fire]."
This ending sees the player aligning with Strelok to protect the Zone, requiring antagonism towards other factions. Reject Scar, flee from Korshunov, and shoot Kaymanov to achieve this outcome.
Project Y
- Subtle Matter: Choose "Life is for the living."
- Dangerous Liaisons: Choose "[Escape]."
- The Last Wish: Choose "[Lower the Gun]."
Similar to the previous ending, but instead of eliminating Kaymanov, spare him. This path supports Kaymanov's scientific approach, allowing the Zone to exist without external control.
Today Never Ends
- Subtle Matter: Choose "Eternal spring."
- Dangerous Liaisons: Choose "[Escape]."
- The Last Wish: No specific choice required for this ending.
This ending involves siding with Scar, leader of the Spark faction. Helping Scar leads him to a pod believed to transport him to the Shining Zone. Note that only two missions' choices directly impact this outcome.
Brave New World
- Subtle Matter: Choose "Life is for the living."
- Dangerous Liaisons: Choose "I'm not your enemy."
- The Last Wish: No specific choice required for this ending.
This ending results from siding with Colonel Krushunov and the Ward faction, leading to a campaign to destroy the Zone. Like the Spark ending, only two missions' choices are critical here.
