This electronic application provides swift access to the scholarly works and biographies of prominent figures within a specific sect.
In the name of Allah, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful
Technological advancements have become integral to modern life. To keep pace with this progress and the demands of cultural globalization, while preserving its rich scholarly heritage and expanding its reach, this application was developed. The Heritage Revival Center at the al-Abbas's shrines houses a significant collection of invaluable texts. While individual efforts have preserved portions of this collection over the centuries, a comprehensive digital archive has been lacking.
This application presents this significant collection in a user-friendly electronic format, catering to both specialists and enthusiasts. It aims to facilitate research and access to the lives and works of the sect's scholars, providing a convenient resource for exploration.
The application offers the book in three formats:
- A text-based format closely mirroring the original publication.
- A digital replica of the printed book.
- A unique feature: a digital image of the author's handwritten manuscript. This allows users to verify potentially ambiguous passages or typographical errors present in previously published versions, many of which lacked rigorous proofreading.
This application, despite its simplicity, offers several key advantages for researchers:
- Independent access to each of the three book formats.
- Comprehensive search capabilities across the entire encyclopedia or within specific sections (standard and advanced search options).
- Text copying and sharing functionality.
- Printing capabilities for all three formats.
- Simultaneous viewing of the text and printed versions, with adjustable zoom and page synchronization.
- Indices of translators, both within individual volumes and across the entire encyclopedia, with searchable functionality.
- Bookmarking capabilities for pages in all three formats.
- Note-taking and commenting features for each page across all formats.
In closing, we extend our gratitude to all who contributed to this project, including the meticulous work of Sheikh Agha Buzurk al-Tharani (may Allah have mercy on him) in typesetting, proofreading, and printing the original text; those who preserved the handwritten manuscript; and the dedicated team who developed this application. May Allah reward them all abundantly.
