Tarneeb is a card game played by two teams, each consisting of two players sitting opposite each other. The game uses a standard 52-card deck, and play proceeds counter-clockwise. Each player attempts to predict the number of "Allmat" (tricks) their team will win in a round.
The player who wins the bid to declare "Tarneeb" throws a type of paper onto the floor. Other players must then throw the same type of paper. The first player to successfully match the paper type wins the "Bamh." If a player doesn't have the matching paper, they can opt to declare "Tarneeb." "Tarneeb" papers are considered superior to other paper types; the player who throws the strongest "Tarneeb" paper wins, unless a stronger one is played.
The round ends when all players have played. Points are tallied. A team only scores if they meet or exceed their bid for "Allmat." If successful, they add the number of "Allmat" won to their score. If they fail, the amount of their bid is subtracted from their score, and the opposing team adds the number of "Allmat" they won to their score.
If a team achieves 13 "Allmat" without bidding for 13, they receive 16 points. A successful bid of 13 "Allmat" earns them 26 points. A failed bid of 13 "Allmat" results in a 16-point deduction.
The game concludes when a team reaches a total score of 41 or more points. That team is declared the winner.
