Ys Memoire: The Oath in Felghana progressively challenges players, teaching them to master its mechanics. While not excessively long, the game features a satisfying number of boss encounters.
Gyalva, the formidable Lord of the Blazing Prison, awaits players who have honed their combat skills, abilities, and game understanding.
How to Defeat Gyalva in Ys Memoire: The Oath in Felghana
- Boss Location: Zone of Lava, the Escapeless Abyss
- Boss HP: 1200 (Normal Difficulty)
After conquering Guilen, the Fire Eater, players advance through the Zone of Lava to face Gyalva. Strategically positioning yourself at either end of the bridge significantly simplifies this battle.
The fight restricts player movement, with the bridge's platforms constantly disrupted by Gyalva's attacks. The key is to quickly jump to Gyalva, unleashing wind magic for maximum damage output.
The Ys series consistently ranks among Nihon Falcom's finest, and defeating challenging bosses delivers immense satisfaction.
Gyalva's Attack Patterns in Ys Memoire: The Oath in Felghana
While a remake of Ys 3, Gyalva is a new addition to the Ys Memoire: The Oath in Felghana roster. This boss boasts diverse attacks; although the fight's mechanics are straightforward, Gyalva can inflict substantial damage quickly. Gyalva moves across the bridge, frequently launching sections of it into the air with fiery attacks.
Consider upgrading Adol before engaging Gyalva, aiming for at least level 21. This shouldn't be overly difficult if you've consistently defeated minor enemies.
Spinning Attacks
Gyalva employs two spinning attacks. The first involves traversing a bridge section, sending impacted platforms airborne. The second is a full-bridge traversal, similarly flipping platforms. Both attacks are devastating to under-leveled players.
To avoid the first, move to either side of the affected area. For the second, the only safe position is on either ledge at the bridge's ends. Staying close to one side ensures a safe retreat.
Avoid the very edge of the bridge, as this corners you. Instead, move strategically to attack Gyalva before retreating to the nearest ledge.
Fire Blast
Gyalva launches fireballs onto the bridge, launching platforms upward. While damaging, this attack creates an opportunity to land several hits.
Exploding Torches
Torches along the bridge periodically erupt in flames, with fireballs arcing between them. These bursts are unpredictable but provide safe movement windows once they subside.
