How to Get New Characters in Hyper Light Breaker
To unlock new characters, you'll need to collect Abyss Stones, which are exclusively dropped by defeating Crowns, the game's formidable bosses. Before you can face these bosses, you must acquire Prisms, which serve as keys to the boss arenas. Keep an eye out for the golden diamond icon on the map to locate these Prisms.
After defeating a Crown, return to the Cursed Outpost via the teleporter. Here, you can select the Breaker you wish to unlock and spend your Abyss Stones. While there are nine characters in total, only two are currently unlockable. The process for unlocking the remaining characters is yet to be revealed, but for now, collecting Abyss Stones is your key to expanding your roster.
All Characters in Hyper Light Breaker
Each character in Hyper Light Breaker starts with a SyCom, a crucial item that not only defines their base stats but also their core perk, shaping their unique playstyle. Here’s a detailed look at each character and what they bring to the table.
Vermillion
Vermillion is the first character you'll meet, equipped with the Gunslinger SyCom by default. This SyCom boosts Vermillion's stats for ranged combat, with a special feature that guarantees a critical hit following a crit from his Rail shots.
For those who prefer a more hands-on approach, Vermillion can switch to the Tank SyCom. This SyCom rewards perfect parries with increased armor, offering better defensive and melee stats, making it a safer choice for close encounters.
Lapis
Lapis starts off with the Lightweaver SyCom, enhancing her Rail shot damage after collecting a Battery. What sets her apart is her Warrior SyCom, which boosts her core stats with every upgrade, turning her into a formidable force as the game progresses.
Lapis excels with both SyComs, but the Warrior SyCom makes her particularly deadly in the long run. With enough upgrades, she surpasses other Breakers in raw power, becoming an unstoppable powerhouse.
Goro
Goro specializes in ranged combat, starting with the Astrologer SyCom, which speeds up his Blade skill charging while shooting. His unlockable Sniper SyCom increases his critical hit rate, making him a high-risk, high-reward choice.
Goro falls into the category of a ranged glass cannon. His damage output is superior to Vermillion and Lapis, but without a defensive SyCom, he requires careful handling. Master Goro's playstyle, and he can become a devastating force on the battlefield.
