The latest expansion for Pokémon TCG Pocket, *Shining Revelry*, has brought a dazzling array of over 110 new cards into the game, including shiny variants that have collectors buzzing with excitement. The expansion also introduces cards from the Paldea region, adding fresh faces to your deck-building arsenal. With the introduction of these shiny cards, I found myself wishing for more Pack Hourglasses to indulge in a 10-pack pull. My luck was mixed; while I managed to snag a Charizard EX, the rest of my haul was less impressive. However, pulling a Pokémon Center Lady was a small victory, as her ability to heal Special Conditions can be a game-changer against tricky opponents with status ailments like Burn.
Alongside the new cards, the update also brings an Emblem event, a tradition that allows players to earn stylish badges to show off to friends. But the real excitement comes with the introduction of Ranked Matches, where you can test your skills against other Trainers. As you climb from Beginner to Master Ball Rank, your progress is tracked by points, and at the end of the roughly one-month season, you'll be awarded an emblem reflecting your achievements. This feature has me dusting off my dueling skills and strategizing my deck builds in anticipation of competitive play.
