Nintendo Switch 2 enthusiasts have shifted their focus from the console itself to the size of its physical game cases following an apparent leak from a retailer. As reported by Nintendo Life, journalist Felipe Lima discovered a listing for a Take-Two Interactive Nintendo Switch 2 game on French retailer Fnac, which included the dimensions of the game box. If accurate, this suggests that Nintendo Switch 2 game boxes will be slightly larger than those of the original Switch.
This information was visualized in a Reddit post by HertzBurst, showcasing a comparison of the two box sizes side by side. According to the listing, the dimensions of the new boxes are expected to be 5.1 inches by 7.7 inches (13 cm by 19.5 cm). While these boxes will be bigger than the current Switch game cases, they remain smaller than those used for Xbox Series X and S and PlayStation 5 games. Although not officially confirmed, it's plausible that retailers receive such details early to prepare for stock displays and other logistics.

The Nintendo Switch 2's release is anticipated to be sooner rather than later. Although Nintendo has not yet confirmed a specific release window, speculation points towards a launch between June and September. This speculation is fueled by hands-on events scheduled through June and statements from Nacon, the publisher of Greedfall 2, indicating that the console will be available before September.
The Nintendo Switch 2 was officially unveiled earlier in January with a brief trailer that confirmed its backward compatibility and the addition of a second USB-C port. However, many details, including information about other games and the function of a mysterious new button on the Joy-Con, were not disclosed. The theory about the Joy-Con featuring a mouse-like function has gained some attention among fans.
