In commemoration of Monster Hunter's 20th anniversary, the popular Capcom action-RPG series announced a collaboration with Digimon to launch the “Digimon COLOR Monster Hunter 20th Edition” version of the pocket-sized V-Pets device. The 20th edition drop comes in color ways based on the Monster Hunter series' Rathalos and Zinogre, each priced at 7,700 Yen (approximately 53.2 USD) excluding other fees.

Both the Monster Hunter 20th Digimon COLOR devices feature a color LCD screen, UV printer technology, and built-in rechargeable batteries. Like its predecessors, it boasts a color LCD screen, a built-in rechargeable battery, and customizable background designs. The game features the "Cold Mode" mechanic which temporarily pauses the growth of your monsters as well as their hunger and strength stats. Additionally, it has a backup system which will allow you to back up and save your monsters and in-game progress.

Pre-orders for the Digital Monster COLOR Monster Hunter 20th Edition are available now over at Bandai's official Japan online store, however do note that these are Japanese releases, and so you might pay additional fees if you're getting the goodies shipped elsewhere worldwide.

For now, there are no global release announcements for Digimon COLOR Monster Hunter 20th Edition. Additionally, at the time of writing, it seems that the devices are out of stock just hours after the product was announced. Likewise, the first round of pre-orders for the 20th Edition device will close today at 11:00 p.m. JST (7:00 a.m. PT / 10:00 a.m. ET). Updates on the second round of pre-order registrations will be announced soon on the Digimon Web Twitter (X) account. Digimon COLOR Monster Hunter 20th Edition is expected to release in April 2025.
