Sony Interactive Entertainment (SIE) has appointed Hideaki Nishino as its sole CEO, effective April 1, 2025. This announcement, part of a broader company restructuring, also reveals the promotion of Sony CFO Hiroki Totoki to President and CEO of Sony Corporation, replacing Kenichiro Yoshida. Lin Tao, SVP of finance, corporate development, and strategy, will succeed Totoki as CFO.
This leadership change follows last year's announcement splitting SIE leadership between Nishino and Hermen Hulst after Jim Ryan's retirement. Hulst retained his position as head of PlayStation Studios, while Nishino oversaw hardware and technology. Nishino's expanded role now encompasses all of SIE's operations, including the platform business group. Hulst remains at the helm of PlayStation Studios.
Nishino, a Sony veteran since 2000, previously served as SVP of the platform experience group. In a statement, he expressed his honor at assuming the CEO position, highlighting SIE's commitment to technological innovation and creative experiences to expand the PlayStation community and its IP. He thanked Hermen Hulst for his continued leadership.
