In *Monster Hunter Wilds*, the thrill of the hunt extends beyond battling fearsome beasts. The expansive world beckons adventurers with a myriad of quests and discoveries. For those eager to track down the elusive Rime Beetle in *Monster Hunter Wilds*, here's your guide to success.
How To Find the Rime Beetle in Monster Hunter Wilds

If you've forgotten Samin's hint, your quest for the Rime Beetle leads you to the Iceshard Cliffs region. Don't expect a straightforward journey; there's no simple waypoint to guide you directly to the beetle's location. Instead, your eyes and a bit of luck will be your best allies in spotting this creature in the wild. Fortunately, once you know where to look, the search becomes manageable.
The Rime Beetle is known for creating balls of packed snow, which are easily visible in snowy areas. Your focus should be on the snow-covered zones within the Iceshard Cliffs, specifically Areas 2, 7, 8, 11, and 13. As you explore these areas, keep an eye out for the telltale snowballs. Additionally, if you spot tracks in the snow, following them could lead you straight to the beetle.

While you can collect the Rime Beetle manually or with the Hook Slinger, capturing it requires a different approach. Equip your Capture Net, which should be readily available in your gear. Hold L1/LB to access your items, then scroll to the Capture Net and press Square/X to equip it. Aim using L2/LT, and when the beetle is within your crosshairs and turns orange, fire to capture it successfully. This not only adds the Rime Beetle to your collection but also fulfills Samin's request.
If you choose to gather the beetle manually, you'll obtain Frost Pods instead, useful for inflicting ice damage in *Monster Hunter Wilds*.
