Feral Interactive Releases Imperium Update for ROME: Total War

The classic strategy game, *ROME: Total War*, has just received a significant free update on Android, courtesy of Feral Interactive. Dubbed the Imperium Update, this enhancement brings a host of gameplay tweaks, control improvements, and quality-of-life features to enrich your gaming experience. If you've been playing this iconic title since its Android debut in 2018, you're in for a treat with these new additions. Fans of the standalone expansions, *Barbarian Invasion* and *Alexander*, can also look forward to receiving the same update next week.

What Does the Imperium Update Bring to ROME: Total War?

The Imperium Update integrates some of the most acclaimed features from Feral's newer mobile titles, such as *Total War: MEDIEVAL II* and *EMPIRE*. Players can now enjoy three new control options: Positioning Mode, Melee Mode, and Automatic Deselection. These additions enhance your command over units, making battles more strategic and precise. For instance, you can now move your army, agents, or fleets by simply tapping and holding, eliminating the need to manually drag paths.

Positioning Mode allows for meticulous unit placement with a tap-and-hold mechanism, while the Group Grid feature simplifies managing unit groups through a collapsible selection menu. Melee Mode is particularly useful, enabling ranged units to switch to close combat when the situation demands it.

One of the standout features of the update is Command Slowdown, which automatically reduces the game speed when you're issuing complex orders, giving you more time to strategize. Additionally, for the first time, *ROME: Total War* on Android (and iPad) now supports keyboard and mouse, offering a more familiar control scheme for some players.

The minimap has also been revamped to resemble the one in *MEDIEVAL II*, featuring smoother zooming and navigation. A new reset button allows you to quickly return to the default view, enhancing your overall gameplay experience.

The Imperium Update is now available for download on the Google Play Store for all *ROME: Total War* Android users. Make sure to install it to enjoy these enhancements. Keep an eye out for the updates coming to *Barbarian Invasion* and *Alexander* next week.
