Paradox Interactive has unveiled an exciting lineup of upcoming content for Crusader Kings III throughout 2025, encapsulated in Chapter IV. This chapter is focused on expanding the game's scope to Asia, introducing new mechanics and regions for players to delve into.
The chapter kicks off with the release of the Crowns of the World cosmetic DLC, which has already hit the shelves. This compact yet fashionable pack brings six crowns, four hairstyles, and two beards, enabling players to further customize their rulers' appearances.
Next up, on April 28, the first major expansion, Khans of the Steppe, will launch. This DLC lets players take command of the Mongols, assuming the role of the Great Khan to lead a nomadic horde in conquering and dominating neighboring regions.
Following this, the Coronations DLC, set for release in Q3 (July–September), introduces a new ceremonial mechanic. Players will be able to legitimize their reign through grand coronation events, which include hosting lavish celebrations, making solemn vows, and choosing the future direction of their kingdom. This expansion also enhances political interactions with new advisor and vassal events, adding depth to royal succession dynamics.
The chapter culminates with the release of All Under Heaven, a comprehensive expansion slated for later this year. This DLC will introduce the entire East Asian map, featuring detailed representations of China, Korea, Japan, and the Indonesian islands, offering players expansive new territories to explore and conquer.
Throughout the year, Paradox will continue to release patches aimed at refining game systems and improving AI behavior. The developers are committed to incorporating player feedback to enhance future updates, with the next Q&A session scheduled for March 26.
