Treyarch is gearing up to celebrate 115 Day with a treasure trove of announcements for *Call of Duty: Black Ops 6 Zombies*, including the unveiling of a new map called **The Tomb**. This January 15 event is a special treat for *Call of Duty* fans, featuring a comprehensive blog post detailing all the upcoming zombie-themed surprises. The spotlight today is on **The Tomb**, a sandy new Zombies map set to launch with Season 2 on January 28. This follows closely on the heels of Season 1's Citadelle des Morts, bringing another exciting addition to the Zombies universe in just under two weeks.
According to Treyarch, the story picks up after the harrowing events at Citadelle des Morts, where survivors Weaver, Grey, Carver, and Maya are led by Gabriel Krafft's final words to an excavation site in pursuit of the Sentinel Artifact. **The Tomb** is built on the remains of ancient burial grounds, with origins possibly dating back to 2500 B.C.E. These catacombs remained untouched until the early 1900s, and what lies beneath may hold secrets deeper than anyone could imagine.
The team at Treyarch described **The Tomb** as a mysterious locale with connections to a British archeologist named Sir Archibald Fotherington-Smythe, though they remained tight-lipped about its role in the broader Zombies narrative. In terms of gameplay, **The Tomb** promises an experience akin to Liberty Falls, the vibrant small-town map that debuted with *Black Ops 6* in October. This means players can expect tighter play spaces designed with replayability in mind, filled with numerous Easter eggs to uncover.
Treyarch also teased a reimagined Wonder Weapon "inspired by our past" and the return of an iconic SMG, though specifics remain under wraps. Season 2 will also bring a host of quality-of-life improvements, including the much-requested ability to track up to 10 Calling Card challenges and 10 Camo challenges in both Zombies and Multiplayer modes. Additionally, Zombies will feature a co-op pause option, allowing the party leader to pause a match with friends mid-run. HUD presets for Zombies and Multiplayer will be separated, and players will be able to rejoin Zombies matches with their loadout if disconnected.
### Black Ops 6 Tier List: Best Guns RankedTo mark 115 Day, *Black Ops 6* players can enjoy double the GobbleGum earn rate, as well as double player, weapon, and battle pass XP from now until 10am PT on January 21. Treyarch also shared impressive stats for the story-driven Directed Mode, revealing that players have invested over 480 million hours into *Black Ops 6 Zombies*. The goal of Directed Mode was to guide new players through the Main Quests, helping them experience the storyline and fostering a new generation of Zombies enthusiasts. Since its launch, the average Main Quest completion rate has soared from 3.38% on November 14 to 8.23% today.
Fans are eager to hear the voices of their favorite Zombies characters when **The Tomb** goes live, especially after Activision announced last month that some beloved characters had been recast amid the ongoing SAG-AFTRA strike.
