Allah says in the Quran:
"And establish prayer for My remembrance" (20:14),
"Successful indeed are the believers, those who are humble in their prayers" (23:1-2),
"...and establish prayer. Indeed, prayer prohibits immorality and wrongdoing, and the remembrance of Allah is greater..." (29:45)
From these verses, we understand that prayer helps us remember Allah, fosters humility, and keeps us away from immorality and wrongdoing. However, the reality is often different. During prayer, our minds wander to business, jobs, farming, family issues, and daily life concerns. How humble are we truly before the Almighty, the Most Honored, and the Most Dignified? Millions of Muslims perform their five daily prayers, yet many engage in acts considered immoral and unjust in Islam (such as usury, lying, cursing, and backbiting). Why does this happen?
It's because we don't know what we're reciting during our prayers, in our Quran recitations, during prostration, bowing, and sitting. In such a state, prayer becomes just a routine that we perform without understanding. Is this the example of an educated nation? It's crucial to know what you're reciting in your prayers today.
"Whoever calls to guidance will have a reward similar to that of those who follow him, without their reward being diminished in any way." [Sahih Muslim: 2678]
