RYFFC is an app where YOU are in Control! It provides a safe and comfortable environment where individuals can freely share news without fear of public prosecution. RYFFC aims to redefine the stigma associated with news by democratizing the creation, consumption, and engagement of news, fostering a safe and engaging social experience. This represents a NEW WAY to NEWS.
RYFFC is designed to expose users to a wide range of thoughts, articles, and opinions. Although there is no censorship on our app, we ensure that the experience remains non-triggering. We implement anti-bullying systems and a comprehensive self-moderation feature, allowing users to filter out content they are not ready to see.
Ryff
A key feature of RYFFC is the Ryff. This is a concise "hot take" created by users about an article, limited to 88 characters. Ryffers engage with articles, pop culture, and news in a unique way, bypassing traditional comment structures. If you encounter a Ryff you wish to respond to, you can engage with a Ryffer through a Ryff Back. At RYFFC, we encourage thoughtful interaction; you can only Ryff on another's Ryff once until they respond.
Self Moderation
At RYFFC, users can self-select the level of controversy or triggering material they are comfortable with at any time. We offer three levels of moderation:
- G - "General" audience moderation level, suitable for users who prefer mild or non-controversial content.
- M - "Moderate" audience moderation level, designed for users interested in viewing content ranging from mild to moderately controversial.
- BE - "Bleeding Edge" audience moderation level, for users who wish to access all available content, including highly controversial topics.
Voting
Alongside self-moderation, users have the ability to vote on the moderation level of articles, influencing their categorization within the app.
Superboost
Superboost offers an exciting way to amplify your "Like." If you come across a post you particularly enjoy, you can give it an extra boost, making your appreciation stand out.
Like/Dislike
The traditional like/dislike feature gets a fresh twist on RYFFC. Instead of clicking a thumb, you can swipe left or right on an article to express your opinion.
