Conquering Ellefale, the Azure Queen of Death in Ys Memoire: The Oath in Felghana

Ys Memoire: The Oath in Felghana presents a significant challenge with its boss, Ellefale. This guide details strategies to overcome this formidable opponent. Maintaining distance is crucial; close-range combat is highly disadvantageous.

Preparation is Key:

Before engaging Ellefale, sufficient grinding to boost health above 100 is recommended. While Raval Ore can upgrade armor, saving it for later, more impactful upgrades is advisable.

Utilizing the Ignis Bracelet:

Direct attacks are ineffective against Ellefale's range. The Ignis Bracelet's fireballs are the primary means of damage. Maintain maximum distance to minimize incoming attacks while effectively utilizing the bracelet.

Ellefale's Attacks and Countermeasures:

Ellefale employs four distinct attacks, each requiring specific counter-strategies:

  • Spinning Disc: Telegraphed by Ellefale raising her right arm. Precise timing is essential; jump to avoid the disc, but not too early or too late.

  • Vertical Slash: A simpler attack, easily avoided by moving laterally (left or right). This can be combined with other evasive maneuvers. Telegraphed by Ellefale raising her right arm.

  • Lightning Strike: The most challenging attack. Telegraphed by Ellefale leaning forward. Immediately charge away from Ellefale and jump to avoid the lightning bolts. Running towards her during this attack is fatal.

  • Spinning Sphere: A slowly moving projectile that restricts movement. Easily outrun individually, but it can become problematic when combined with other attacks, creating confined spaces. Telegraphed by Ellefale raising both wings.

Mastering Positioning and Timing:

Successfully defeating Ellefale requires careful positioning and precise timing. Learn to anticipate her attacks based on her telegraphs and react accordingly. The arena's space must be strategically used to avoid being cornered. Practice and patience are vital to mastering these techniques.
