Netflix unveiled the opening trailer for its upcoming Devil May Cry anime adaptation, shortly after announcing its April 3, 2025 premiere date. Set to Limp Bizkit's iconic "Rollin'," the trailer showcases dynamic action sequences featuring a young Dante, Lady, and the enigmatic White Rabbit, peppered with nods to the game franchise.
Showrunner Adi Shankar elaborated on his vision, explaining the series' late 90s/early 2000s setting and its accompanying soundtrack, which he believes perfectly captures the era's spirit. Beyond Limp Bizkit, the anime will feature other period-defining tracks, as well as a synthwave reimagining of the game's soundtrack by Power Glove. Shankar hinted at a multi-season arc, promising diverse visual styles and soundtracks for future seasons to reflect the varied nature of the Devil May Cry games.
While plot details remain under wraps, the first season, comprising eight episodes, is expected to adapt elements from the Devil May Cry 3 manga, Code 1: Dante. This storyline centers on a young Dante investigating a child's disappearance, a mystery that forces him to confront his father Sparda's demonic legacy and his own complicated past.
