Weapon damage in NieR: Automata varies with each swing. Upgrading reduces this damage variance while boosting potential damage per swing.

The Iron Pipe boasts the game's widest damage range but also possesses incredibly high potential damage. Its effectiveness is unpredictable, but it's a worthwhile weapon to acquire. Here's how:

How To Get The Iron Pipe in NieR: Automata

The Iron Pipe is a rare fishing reward found in sewers. Both sewer locations offer the same drop rate; the one near Resistance Camp is easier to access. Fast travel to the camp, then head right towards the Amusement Park. After crossing a small gap, you'll find an open manhole under a highway.

Descend into the sewer, enter the water, and begin fishing. Other junk items are also possible catches and can be sold. There's no guaranteed method to increase your chances; it may take several attempts. Use your Pod's light to improve visibility in the dark sewer, aiding in spotting the submerged item. Another sewer location is accessible en route to the Flooded City.

Iron Pipe Stats in NieR: Automata

The Iron Pipe's damage range remains wide regardless of upgrade level. However, successful hits can yield some of the game's highest damage outputs. This weapon is obtainable relatively early in the game. Upgrade requirements and resulting stats are as follows:
