Ubisoft Confirms More “Driver” Projects After Cancelation of Show Adaptation

Despite the cancellation of the planned live-action Driver TV series, Ubisoft assures fans that other Driver franchise projects are actively under development. Let's delve into Ubisoft's recent announcement.

Ubisoft Remains Committed to Future Driver Projects

Ubisoft Confirms More “Driver” Projects After Cancelation of Show AdaptationUbisoft has officially confirmed to Game File that the live-action Driver series, based on their popular action-driving game franchise, has been cancelled. Initially announced in 2021 for exclusive streaming on Binge.com, the project was part of Ubisoft's broader strategy "to bring our games to life in new and exciting ways," as stated by Ubisoft Film & Television head Danielle Kreinik.

The collaboration ended due to the closure of Hotrod Tanner LLC, a movie-related subsidiary (named after the Driver protagonist), in January. A Ubisoft spokesperson confirmed to Game File, "We are no longer moving forward with our partnership with Binge for a Driver series."

However, devoted Driver fans can rejoice! Ubisoft has confirmed ongoing work on "other exciting projects related to the franchise," promising future announcements. While specifics remain undisclosed, stay tuned for further updates on the Driver franchise's future endeavors.
