Game of Thrones: Kingsroad Mobile RPG – Closed Beta and Gameplay Revealed

Netmarble's upcoming mobile RPG, Game of Thrones: Kingsroad, has unveiled a new gameplay trailer and details regarding its closed beta test. The action-adventure title, set during the show's fourth season, promises engaging combat and a rich narrative experience.

The closed beta, scheduled for January 16-22, 2025, in the US, Canada, and select European regions, offers fans a sneak peek before the full launch later this year. Players can register via the game's official website.

This class-based RPG features "fully manual" controls, allowing for strategic combat. Iconic characters like Jon Snow, Jaime Lannister, and Drogon are confirmed, alongside a new character from House Tyrell in the North, driving an original storyline.

The over-one-minute trailer showcases the game's features, including character progression and visually impressive combat described as "raw, aggressive, and destructive." Netmarble, known for titles like Marvel Future Fight and Ni no Kuni: Cross Worlds, aims to deliver a compelling narrative experience leveraging the rich lore of George R.R. Martin's creation and the HBO adaptation. The game's potential to become a leading mobile title with a captivating story is high.

The Game of Thrones: Kingsroad timeline placement, previously speculated by fans, has been confirmed as the show's fourth season. Character designs draw inspiration from Wildlings, Dothraki, and the Faceless Men. The beta test provides a much-anticipated opportunity for fans to engage with the game before its full release, offering a compelling alternative for fans eagerly awaiting the next installment of A Song of Ice and Fire, The Winds of Winter.
