Squid Game: Unleashed is celebrating Season 2 with a wave of new content! Get ready for new characters, a brand-new map, and exciting challenges. Plus, earn exclusive in-game rewards just by watching the new episodes on Netflix!
Netflix's surprising holiday release of Squid Game: Unleashed, a free-to-play battle royale game, was a bold move. Now, they're doubling down by offering enticing rewards to both subscribers and non-subscribers alike, incentivizing viewers to engage with the show.
What's in store for players? Starting January 3rd, a map inspired by the Season 2 mini-game "Mingle" will launch. Three new playable characters – Geum-Ja, Yong-Sik, and rapper Thanos – will also debut throughout January.
Geum-Ja and Thanos will each have special in-game events on January 3rd and 9th respectively, allowing players to unlock them. And the best part? Watching Squid Game Season 2 unlocks in-game Cash and Wild Tokens. Watching seven episodes even unlocks the exclusive "Binni Binge-Watcher" outfit!
Here's the January content calendar for Squid Game: Unleashed:
- January 3rd: The Mingle map launches alongside Geum-Ja. The "Dalgona Mash Up Collection Event" begins, challenging players to complete Mingle-inspired mini-games and collect Dalgona tins (until January 9th).
- January 9th: Thanos arrives with his own recruitment event, "Thanos’ Red Light Challenge." Players earn this character by eliminating opponents with knives (until January 14th).
- January 16th: Yong-Sik joins the game as the final new character in this update.
Squid Game: Unleashed could be a game-changer for Netflix's gaming ambitions. The free-to-play model, coupled with the reward system linked to Netflix subscriptions and show viewing, cleverly promotes both the game and the show itself.
