No Man's Sky: A Guide to Acquiring Solanium
Solanium, a crucial resource in No Man's Sky, is exclusively found on planets with extreme heat. This guide details how to locate, farm, and craft this valuable material.
Locating Solanium:
To find Solanium, scan planets from your ship, searching for descriptions like "Arid," "Incandescent," "Boiling," or "Scorched." These designations indicate the presence of Solanium. Upon landing, use your Analysis Visor to identify Solar Vines – tall, rock-like structures with glowing vines. You'll need a Haz-Mat Gauntlet to harvest them. Phosphorus, also found on these planets, is a key ingredient in Solanium crafting.
Farming Solanium:
Once you've progressed in the Farmer's Agricultural Research mission, you can cultivate Solar Vines. Use Hydroponic Trays or Bio-Domes, planting them with 50 Solanium and 50 Phosphorus. On hot planets, direct ground planting is possible. Allow approximately 16 real-time hours for growth before harvesting.
Crafting Solanium:
Several Refiner recipes produce Solanium, primarily utilizing Phosphorus. Phosphorus can be sourced from hot planets or purchased from traders and Galactic Trade Terminals. Crafting recipes include:
- Solanium + Phosphorus (for increased Solanium yield)
- Phosphorus + Oxygen
- Phosphorus + Sulphurine
- Di-hydrogen + Sulphurine
Note that all these methods, including Sulphurine-based recipes, require visiting a hot planet for ingredients. Establishing a Phosphorus farm at your base is highly recommended for consistent Sulphurine supply.
