The Rune Giant, a new Epic card in Clash Royale, is unlocked at the Jungle Arena (Arena 9). A free Rune Giant is available in the shop as part of a limited-time launch offer (until January 17th, 2025). After this date, it can only be obtained through chests or the in-game shop.

This guide explores the Rune Giant's strengths and showcases effective deck strategies.

Clash Royale Rune Giant Overview

The Rune Giant, an Epic card, targets enemy Towers and defensive buildings. At tournament level, it boasts 2803 Hitpoints and medium movement speed, dealing 120 damage to buildings. While its damage is less than a Giant and more than an Ice Golem, its unique Enchant ability is its key strength.

Upon deployment, the Rune Giant enchants two nearby troops, granting them bonus damage with every third hit. This buffing ability makes it highly effective in specific deck combinations. Its low elixir cost (four) allows for easy cycling. Fast-attacking troops like the Dart Goblin maximize its effect, while slower troops can benefit strategically.

Unlike the Golem, the Rune Giant isn't a standalone win condition. It excels as a support troop, distracting enemies and absorbing tower damage while supporting pushes.

Best Rune Giant Decks in Clash Royale

These Clash Royale decks effectively utilize the Rune Giant:

  • Goblin Giant Cannon Cart
  • Battle Ram 3M
  • Hog EQ Firecracker

Details on each deck follow.

Goblin Giant Cannon Cart

While the Goblin Giant Sparky deck remains viable, this variant incorporates the Cannon Cart.

Card Name Elixir Cost Evo Goblin Giant 6 Evo Bats 2 Rage 2 Arrows 3 Rune Giant 4 Lumberjack 4 Cannon Cart 5 Elixir Collector 6

This beatdown deck boasts strong defense against various strategies. The Rune Giant buffs the Cannon Cart and Goblin Giant (including its Spear Goblins), maximizing damage output. The Elixir Collector, Lumberjack, and Rage spell provide additional offensive support. However, its air defense (Evo Bats) is weak against Lava Hound decks. This deck utilizes the Royal Chef Tower Troop.

Battle Ram 3M

This deck reimagines the Three Musketeers, playing similarly to a Pekka Bridge Spam strategy.

Card Name Elixir Cost Evo Zap 2 Evo Battle Ram 4 Bandit 3 Royal Ghost 3 Hunter 4 Rune Giant 4 Elixir Collector 6 Three Musketeers 9

The Bandit, Royal Ghost, and Evo Battle Ram create early pressure, while the Elixir Collector builds an elixir advantage. The Three Musketeers are strategically deployed in the Double Elixir phase. The Rune Giant and Hunter form the core defense, with the Evo Zap supporting Battle Ram pushes. This deck uses the Tower Princess Tower Troop.

Hog EQ Firecracker

A top-tier Hog Rider deck enhanced by the Rune Giant.

Card Name Elixir Cost Evo Skeletons 1 Evo Firecracker 3 Ice Spirit 1 The Log 2 Earthquake 3 Cannon 3 Rune Giant 4 Hog Rider 4

Gameplay mirrors the standard Hog EQ Firecracker deck, but the Rune Giant replaces the Valkyrie or Mighty Miner. The Rune Giant's Enchant significantly boosts the Firecracker's damage. The Earthquake provides late-game tower damage, and Evo Skeletons handle defense. This deck uses the Tower Princess Tower Troop.

The Rune Giant introduces strategic depth to Clash Royale. Its unique buffing ability encourages experimentation. These decks provide a starting point; personalize them to match your playstyle.
