Promo Card 8 Revealed: Hidden Gem in Pokémon TCG: Pocket

Author : Ethan Feb 02,2025

For completionists playing Pokemon TCG Pocket, the Promo Card section is usually a satisfyingly short list to complete. However, the enigmatic Promo Card 008 is currently causing frustration.

The Appearance of Promo Card 008

The unobtainable Promo Card 008 appeared around January 2025 in the Promo – A Card Dex, creating a noticeable gap between Professor Oak (007) and Pikachu (009). While its existence might have been present earlier, it only recently became visible as a blank slot. This has left players eager to learn how to acquire it.

Unveiling Promo Card 008

Although currently unobtainable, clues about Promo Card 008 can be found. Accessing the "Related Cards" section for cards like Red Card (006) or Pokedex (004) reveals a greyed-out version of Promo Card 008. This card depicts an alternate art Pokedex surrounded by Pikachu, Bulbasaur, Charmander, and Squirtle.

The card's information indicates it will be "obtained from a campaign," similar to the New Year 2025 Pikachu card (Promo 026). This differs from cards acquired through missions or Wonder Pick events, suggesting a promotional giveaway.

The exact release date and method for obtaining Pokemon TCG Pocket Promo Card 008 remain unknown. However, for those seeking to complete their collection, hopefully, it will become available soon. In the meantime, the option to hide unowned cards can be toggled off to alleviate the visual disruption.

Pokemon TCG Pocket is available now on mobile devices.
