Pokémon GO Unveils Long-Awaited Feature

Pokemon GO's Fashion Week: Taken Over event introduces a highly anticipated feature: remote raid pass compatibility with Shadow Raids. This limited-time event, running from January 15th, 12:00 a.m. to January 19th, 8:00 p.m. local time, allows players to participate in one-star, three-star, and five-star Shadow Raids remotely or in person. A key benefit? Increased chances of catching Pokémon with superior IV stats.

This temporary addition to Shadow Raids extends to the Shadow Ho-Oh Raid Day on January 19th (2:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. local time), offering boosted shiny Shadow Ho-Oh encounter rates and the opportunity to teach it Sacred Fire. Furthermore, players can utilize Charged TMs to remove the Frustration move from their Shadow Pokémon.

While this functionality is event-exclusive, the positive player response to this long-requested feature is undeniable. The community has previously voiced concerns regarding the in-person requirements of Dynamax and Gigantamax battles, making the temporary inclusion of remote raid passes in Shadow Raids a welcome change. Whether this becomes a permanent feature remains uncertain, but it provides a valuable glimpse into a potentially more accessible future for Shadow Raids in Pokémon GO.
