Among the most eagerly awaited releases I covered last year, one standout was the upcoming Pirates Outlaws 2: Heritage. The original Pirates Outlaws was a stylish, swashbuckling roguelike deckbuilder that launched when the genre was still fresh. Now, its sequel is set to make waves with a Q3 release this year!
This sequel, aptly named Pirates Outlaws 2: Heritage, returns you to the high seas of New Elysia for another thrilling journey. Choose your character, select a class ability, and assemble your starting deck to embark on your voyage!
Pirates Outlaws 2 introduces a variety of new features, including multiple characters with seven class options each. You can customize your deck and even recruit an animal companion to enhance the strategic depth of your battles. With enhanced turn-based combat and a new card evolution tree, you'll have an arsenal of tools to conquer the seas!
Run out the gunsPirates Outlaws 2 promises to be an expanded sequel, allowing you to navigate back and forth across the map with even more permutations and combinations of cards and characters. For those on PC, an upcoming Steam demo will offer the first opportunity to dive into Pirates Outlaws 2!
However, I have a slight concern regarding the animations shown in the reveal trailer, which appear somewhat static. While fully animating these illustrations can be challenging, I'm hopeful that the final release will feature more dynamic effects when it launches on mobile later this year.
