Mastering Path of Exile 2's endgame demands a well-tuned loot filter. These filters drastically reduce screen clutter, making mapping far more manageable and focusing your attention on valuable items. FilterBlade, the immensely popular filter manager from Path of Exile 1, now supports PoE 2, offering a streamlined and customizable experience. Let's explore how to use it.
How to Set Up FilterBlade Loot Filters in Path of Exile 2
- Navigate to the FilterBlade website.
- Select "PoE 2" when prompted. The default NeverSink filter will be pre-selected.
- Adjust the Strictness slider (explained below).
- Go to the "Export to PoE" tab (top right).
- Name your filter (any name works).
- Choose "Sync" or "Download" (bottom right):
- Sync: Automatically updates your PoE 2 filter with FilterBlade changes.
- Download: Downloads the filter to your PC; useful for comparing different strictness levels.
- In PoE 2, go to Options -> Game.
- If you synced, select your new FilterBlade filter from the Item Filter dropdown.
- If you downloaded, use the folder icon to locate your downloaded filter file.
That's it! Your FilterBlade loot filter is now active.
Which Loot Filter Strictness Should You Choose?
NeverSink's FilterBlade offers seven strictness levels. Choosing the right one is crucial, as it determines what items are visible. You can always customize later, but starting with an appropriate level prevents issues.
Strictness | Effect | Best For |
---|---|---|
Soft | Highlights valuable materials and items only. Shows everything else. | Act 1-2 |
Regular | Hides only useless items. | Act 3 |
Semi-Strict | Hides low-potential/low-value items. | Act 4-6 |
Strict | Hides most items without high turnover. | Early Mapping (Waystones 1-6) |
Very Strict | Hides low-value rares and crafting bases. Hides Waystones 1-6. | Mid to late mapping (Waystones 7+) |
Uber Strict | Hides almost all non-tiered rares and bases. Highlights top currency. Hides Waystones 1-13. | Late mapping (Waystones 14+) |
Uber Plus Strict | Hides nearly everything except high-value currency and rares/uniques. Hides Waystones 1-14. | Ultra endgame mapping (Waystones 15-18) |
For returning players, Semi-Strict is a good starting point. Soft and Regular are best for fresh league starts or SSF (single-player standard) runs.
Pressing ALT (PC) reveals hidden items, though their names are minimized for better visibility.
How to Customize FilterBlade Loot Filter in PoE 2
FilterBlade's strength lies in its easy customization without code editing. Let's explore how to modify the filter.
Using the Customize Tab
The "Customize" tab (next to "Overview") lets you adjust virtually every item drop. Items are categorized and subcategorized for easy access. For example, to change a Divine Orb's appearance, search for "Divine Orb"; the relevant section will open, showing customizable options with live previews. Click the in-game showcase icon to preview sounds.
Changing Colors and Sounds
The "Styles" tab handles filter-wide color and sound changes, while the "Customize" tab allows for individual item adjustments. You can use custom .mp3 sounds or choose from numerous community-created options. Experiment freely; the "Reset" option is always available. Explore community-made modules for pre-built visual and auditory enhancements.
