Developer Direct showcased more than just DOOM: The Dark Ages; a highly anticipated announcement stole the spotlight: Ninja Gaiden 4. Set for an autumn 2025 release, this sequel to the beloved Koei Tecmo franchise promises a thrilling return to action.
The debut trailer highlighted the series protagonist, Ryu Hayabusa, in a fast-paced, brutal slasher experience. Ninja Gaiden 4 introduces innovative mechanics, such as swift traversal using wires and rails, as showcased in the gameplay footage.
The game's setting is a striking cyberpunk metropolis perpetually drenched in toxic rain. Players will battle waves of genetically-modified soldiers and terrifying creatures from another realm, all while striving to break an ancient curse plaguing the megacity.
Complementing this announcement was the reveal of a substantial remaster of Ninja Gaiden 2, already available on PC, PS5, and Xbox Series X|S, and included in the Game Pass library. Team Ninja's UE5 port boasts completely overhauled character models, visual effects, and environments, further enhanced by the inclusion of elements from later installments, including three additional playable characters.
Koei Tecmo's extensive efforts on both the new game and the remaster are undeniably deserving of widespread acclaim.
