At Least One Major Character Dies in Patch 11.1

World of Warcraft Patch 11.1: Undermined – A Goblin Revolution Fueled by Sacrifice

Key Spoilers for World of Warcraft Patch 11.1, Undermine, below.

The upcoming World of Warcraft Patch 11.1, Undermined, delivers a shocking twist: the death of a beloved Goblin character. Renzik "The Shiv," a long-standing NPC and familiar face to many Alliance Rogues, is killed by Gallywix. This assassination attempt, however, inadvertently ignites a revolution.

Renzik's demise occurs during the Undermine storyline. Players, alongside Gazlowe and Renzik, infiltrate Undermine to secure the Dark Heart before Xal'atath. Gallywix's actions lead to a sniper attack targeting Gazlowe; Renzik bravely intercepts the shot, sacrificing himself. This pivotal moment, documented by Wowhead lore analyst Portergauge on Twitter, sets the stage for the new raid.

Renzik's death, while tragic, serves as a catalyst. Gazlowe, initially hesitant to engage in Undermine's politics, is galvanized into action. Fueled by Renzik's sacrifice, Gazlowe rallies the Trade Princes and the citizens of Undermine, launching a full-scale revolution. This rebellion culminates in the Liberation of Undermine raid.

The irony is palpable: Gallywix's attempt to eliminate Gazlowe inadvertently creates a martyr in Renzik, strengthening the opposition. This sets up a potentially fatal showdown. Gallywix, the self-proclaimed Chrome King, stands as the final boss of the Liberation of Undermine raid. Given the low survival rate of final raid bosses in World of Warcraft, Gallywix's fate seems sealed. Patch 11.1 promises a thrilling conclusion to this Goblin-centric narrative.
