Introducing the Top Iron Patriot Decks in Marvel Snap

Marvel Snap's 2025 Season Pass introduces the Dark Avengers, led by Iron Patriot. This guide explores whether Iron Patriot is worth the Season Pass purchase, examining his mechanics and optimal deck strategies.

Iron Patriot's Mechanics

Iron Patriot is a 2-cost, 3-power card with a unique ability: "On Reveal: Add a random 4, 5, or 6-Cost card to your hand. If you’re winning here after the next turn, give it -4 Cost.”

This seemingly complex ability is straightforward. Iron Patriot adds a high-cost card to your hand. If you control the location after your next turn, that card's cost is significantly reduced (making a 4-cost card 0, a 5-cost 1, and a 6-cost 2). Cards like Doctor Doom can lead to game-winning scenarios, but requires a commitment to that lane. Synergistic cards include Juggernaut, Negasonic Teenage Warhead, and Rocket Raccoon & Groot.

Best Iron Patriot Decks

Iron Patriot's versatility allows inclusion in various decks. Two prominent examples are Wiccan-focused and Devil Dinosaur strategies.

Wiccan Deck:

Kitty Pryde, Zabu, Hydra Bob, Psylocke, Iron Patriot, U.S. Agent, Rocket Raccoon & Groot, Copycat, Galactus, Daughter of Galactus, Wiccan, Legion, Alioth (Copy this list from Untapped)

This deck thrives against Doom 2099-heavy metas. The strategy involves playing Wiccan for energy generation, Galactus for Kitty Pryde buffs, and utilizing U.S. Agent's power strategically. Iron Patriot's generated card, combined with Hydra Bob or Rocket Raccoon & Groot, maximizes his effect. Play Iron Patriot in an unrevealed lane to avoid opponent counterplay. With optimal execution, turns 5 and 6 provide overwhelming card advantage. Replace Hydra Bob, U.S. Agent, or Rocket Raccoon & Groot with high-power alternatives if needed. Wiccan and Alioth are essential.

Devil Dinosaur Deck:

Maria Hill, Quinjet, Hydra Bob, Hawkeye & Kate Bishop, Iron Patriot, Sentinel, Victoria Hand, Mystique, Agent Coulson, Shang-Chi, Wiccan, Devil Dinosaur (Copy this list from Untapped)

This deck revives a classic Devil Dinosaur strategy, leveraging Victoria Hand (Spotlight Cache card) to enhance Iron Patriot's synergy. While Iron Patriot won't directly summon Devil Dinosaur, the generated card adds to the late-game power surge. Mystique copies Victoria Hand, and Agent Coulson provides additional value. Sentinel becomes a powerful 2-cost, 5-power (or 7 with Mystique) card. Quinjet further enhances the low-cost high-power strategy. Hydra Bob can be substituted with a suitable 1-cost card, but Hawkeye & Kate Bishop and Wiccan are key components.

Is Iron Patriot Worth Buying the Season Pass?

Iron Patriot is a strong, versatile card, but not game-breaking. While some might regret skipping him, numerous 2-cost alternatives exist. However, for players focused on hand-generation strategies, the Season Pass purchase is highly recommended, considering the additional value it provides beyond Iron Patriot.
