In Horizon Zero Dawn Remastered, the focus is heavily on its dynamic action gameplay, yet it also provides a rich array of options for weapon and outfit customization. Players can tailor one outfit for stealth missions against machines, while another might be optimized for melee or ranged combat.
There are times when you might wish to combine the benefits of different outfits. Fortunately, this is possible within certain constraints. The following guide will walk you through the process.
Remastered Version Of Horizon Zero Dawn Required
To enjoy the dual outfit effects in Horizon Zero Dawn, you must play the Remastered version. A recent update introduced the transmog feature, enabling you to retain the stats and effects of one outfit while showcasing the appearance of another. This means you no longer need to compromise on style for performance.
Pre-Requisite For The Two Outfit Method
To utilize the effects of two outfits simultaneously, there are specific requirements to consider. Not all outfits are compatible with this technique. While you can choose any outfit for the first slot, the second must be one of these:
- Banuk Werak Runner
- Banuk Werak Chieftain
- Banuk Werak Chieftain Adept (available only in New Game Plus)
These outfits are exclusive to the Frozen Wilds DLC area, so you won't be able to use this method at the game's outset. Fortunately, you don't need to finish the main game to access this area.
How To Get Banuk Werak Outfits In Horizon Zero Dawn Remastered
Banuk Werak Runner
Start by reaching the expansion area after defeating the new machine. If you find it challenging, consider lowering the difficulty or upgrading your gear. Once in the area, locate a Bluegleam Merchant (identified by a blue Merchant icon) to purchase the Banuk Werak Runner outfit.
Resources | Normal Cost | Ultra Hard Cost |
---|---|---|
Metal Shards | 1000 | 5000 |
Desert Glass | 10 | 20 |
Slagshine Glass | 10 | 20 |
Banuk Werak Chieftain & Banuk Werak Chieftain Adept
For the superior Banuk Werak Chieftain outfit, you must complete the "For the Werak" quest, the third main quest in the Frozen Wilds DLC. Equip your best gear, as this mission can be demanding, or opt for Story mode to complete it more easily and unlock the outfit.
The process for obtaining the Adept version is similar but is exclusive to New Game Plus.
After acquiring the second outfit, you're ready to proceed. You don't need to delve deeper into the Frozen Wilds content if you don't wish to.
What To Do To Get the Effects Of Two Outfits
Begin by equipping your preferred outfit, focusing on the stats you need. Remember, you can enhance these stats using Weaves. Once your primary outfit is set, use the transmog feature to apply the look of one of the three Banuk Werak outfits mentioned above. These outfits don't add extra stats but offer an auto-healing perk after taking damage.
This method lets you maintain your chosen outfit's stats while benefiting from the auto-healing feature of the Banuk Werak outfits. If you choose the Shield Weaver as your primary outfit, you'll be nearly invincible, as you'll rarely take damage. In those rare moments you do, the Banuk Werak outfits' healing perk will activate after a brief delay.
The healing perk of the Chieftain and Chieftain Adept outfits activates more quickly than the Banuk Werak Runner's, so opt for these when available.
