Hearthstone Battlegrounds Season 9: Cosmic Overhaul Arrives December 3rd!

Get ready for a celestial shakeup! Hearthstone's Battlegrounds mode is launching Season 9 on December 3rd, bringing a universe of changes, updates, and exciting new features. Prepare for a revamped Tavern experience with cosmic themes, cutting-edge technology, and a completely overhauled minion lineup.

Key Changes:

  • Bob's Technotavern Gets an Upgrade: Season 9 resets ratings and bids farewell to Trinkets, replacing them with new Battlegrounds Tokens. These tokens allow you to reroll your hero choice at the selection screen – perfect for escaping undesirable options.

  • Staggered Minion and Hero Reveals: The new season's reveals are spread out over several days, building anticipation:

    • November 20th: Naga and Dragon reveals.
    • November 21st: Quilboar and Beast reveals.
    • November 22nd: Pirate and Duos-only reveals.
    • November 25th: Murloc and Demon reveals.
    • November 26th: Elemental and Undead reveals.
    • December 2nd: Preview event streams and 31.2 patch notes.
  • New Heroes and Minions: Three brand-new heroes join the fray, with Farseer Nobundo already generating considerable buzz. Nearly 90 minions and Tavern spells are either entering or leaving the pool, ensuring a dynamic meta.

  • Solo Battlegrounds Damage Cap Adjustment: A new damage cap is implemented in solo games only: 5 damage early game, increasing to 10 on turn 4 and 15 on turn 8. The cap is removed once you reach the top 4.

  • Phased Minion Release: The patch launches with Beasts, Dragons, Quilboar, Pirates, Naga, and Mechs on December 3rd. Murlocs and Demons arrive on December 5th, followed by Undead and Elementals on December 9th.
