Get ready, racing fans! Kunos Simulazioni Studios is bringing Assetto Corsa EVO to Steam Early Access on January 16, 2025, marking a significant day for driving simulation enthusiasts.
The initial release will feature a robust selection of 20 meticulously detailed cars and 5 iconic tracks: Imola, Brands Hatch, Bathurst, Laguna Seca, and Suzuka. Despite being in Early Access, expect highly refined physics, precise handling, and remarkably realistic car behavior.
A standout feature is the inclusion of a free-roam mode. A substantial summer 2025 update promises the addition of roads surrounding the legendary Nürburgring. This fully laser-scanned open world will eventually encompass a massive 1600 square kilometers, expanding gradually over time.
Assetto Corsa EVO aims to challenge established giants like Gran Turismo and Forza Motorsport, boasting photorealistic visuals and cutting-edge physics. The full launch is planned to include 100 vehicles and 15 tracks, with further additions via free updates. Each circuit will faithfully recreate real-world conditions, including tire wear and wet track surfaces, enhanced by realistic spectator animations.
Developers have also significantly improved vehicle dynamics, suspension damping, and shock absorption. Early Access will feature the Driving Academy mode, utilizing the included tracks and requiring completion within time limits to earn a license unlocking access to premium vehicles. This represents a key single-player component of the Early Access experience.
