Recent online speculation suggested a major God of War announcement at an upcoming 20th-anniversary event hosted by Santa Monica Studio. Rumors, even from industry insider Jeff Grubb, hinted at potential remasters of classic God of War titles. However, Santa Monica Studio directly addressed these rumors, stating:
"Pantheons collide! We’re thrilled to present a lineup of Greek and Norse characters for this panel celebrating the 20th anniversary of God of War where we’ll reflect on the past two decades of the series. Given the star-studded lineup and the anticipation surrounding this milestone, we want to make it clear that no announcements are planned for this event." Santa Monica Studio
The studio clarified that the event, scheduled for March 22nd, will focus on celebrating the franchise's history. Instead of game reveals, fans can expect new thematic artwork featuring Kratos and Jörmungandr, along with appearances from series voice actors, including Terrence Carson (Kratos) and Carole Ruggier (Athena).
