Genshin Impact Leak Seemingly Confirms Lantern Rite Character for Version 5.4

Recent leaks strongly suggest that Madame Ping, the beloved Streetward Rambler, will become a playable character in Genshin Impact's Version 5.4, debuting during the 2025 Lantern Rite festival. While this has been rumored for some time, the credibility of leaker hxg_diluc lends weight to this prediction, although they themselves labeled the information as somewhat uncertain.

The leak indicates Madame Ping will be a 5-Star Polearm user. Her signature weapon is purported to boast an impressive 88% CRIT DMG bonus, making it a particularly attractive option for players using Xiao who lack the Primordial Jade-Winged Spear. Whether she'll be featured in the first or second half of Version 5.4 remains unconfirmed. Players eager to add Madame Ping and her weapon to their roster should begin saving Primogems now.

Madame Ping's Element: A Hydro Hypothesis

Madame Ping's mastery of martial arts, coupled with her polearm, seems a natural fit. However, her elemental affiliation is still a matter of debate. Her attire, featuring fish scales and a predominantly blue color scheme, strongly suggests she'll be a Hydro character, potentially the first 5-Star Hydro Polearm in the game.

This prediction is further supported by the anticipated character releases in Versions 4.8 and 5.0. Version 4.8 is expected to introduce Emilie, a 5-Star Dendro Polearm user, while Version 5.0 will feature three Natlan characters: a Dendro Claymore, Hydro Catalyst, and Geo Polearm. The emerging pattern hints at HoYoverse prioritizing Pyro reactions over solely focusing on the Pyro element itself during the Natlan era. This strategic shift could explain the introduction of a Hydro Polearm in Version 5.4.
