Mastering the Flare Knife in Freedom Wars Remastered

Freedom Wars Remastered throws players into intense battles against formidable Abductors. To conquer these towering foes, utilizing every tool is crucial. The Flare Knife is a powerful combat item that can significantly aid in these battles. This guide details how to acquire and effectively use the Flare Knife.

Acquiring the Flare Knife

The Flare Knife is surprisingly accessible early in the game. Once you achieve Level 003 Code Clearance, visit Zakka in The Warren. Zakka's inventory includes the Flare Knife, purchasable for 3,000 Entitlement Points.

Equip the Flare Knife via the Loadout menu in the Personal Responsibility Portal. Select an available Combat Item slot; your Flare Knife will appear in the list if purchased.

Utilizing the Flare Knife

The Flare Knife's primary function is severing Abductor limbs. This is particularly useful for players who prefer Polearms or Heavy Melee weapons, allowing limb severing without relying on Light Melee weapons. However, remember it's a single-use item; repurchase is necessary for subsequent Operations.

To use it, lock onto a severable Abductor part and use your Thorn to grapple onto it. With the Flare Knife equipped, a severing option appears. A quick QTE (Quick Time Event) follows, requiring rapid button mashing to succeed. Successful completion severs the limb. Be aware that the Abductor might interrupt the process by leaping or crashing.

Cooperative play enhances severing efficiency. Snare the Abductor repeatedly with teammates to create more opportunities for successful limb severing.
