FromSoftware's upcoming title will initially be tested exclusively on PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S consoles. Registration opens January 10th, with testing slated for February. This excludes a large segment of the fanbase from early access.
Bandai Namco hasn't disclosed why PC players are omitted from this initial testing phase. However, those selected for console testing will enjoy a first look before the official launch.
Continuing the narrative of the original Elden Ring, Elden Ring: Nightreign promises a chilling new adventure. While console players get early access, PC gamers will need to await further announcements regarding potential future testing opportunities.
A notable change in Elden Ring: Nightreign is the removal of the in-game message feature. Director Junya Ishizaki clarified this decision, citing the approximately forty-minute session length as insufficient time for message interaction. He stated, "The messaging feature was disabled due to the limited time available for sending and reading messages within the roughly forty-minute sessions."
