Dwarf Buddies: Unlock Secrets in Stardew Valley

Author : Aaron Feb 02,2025

This guide delves into befriending the enigmatic Dwarf in Stardew Valley. Unlike other villagers, befriending the Dwarf requires learning Dwarvish and strategic gift-giving.

Locating the Dwarf:

Dwarf's Shop Entrance The Dwarf resides in a secluded shop within the mines. To access his shop, break the large boulder to the right of the mine entrance on the first floor (using a copper pickaxe or bomb).

Learning Dwarvish:

Dwarf Scroll Before meaningful interaction is possible, you must donate all four Dwarf Scrolls to the museum. Gunther will then reward you with a Dwarvish translation guide, unlocking communication with the Dwarf.

Gift Guide:

Dwarf's Gift Preferences Friendship with the Dwarf hinges on thoughtful gifts. Remember, he accepts up to two gifts per week. Gifts given on his birthday (Summer 22nd) yield eight times the usual friendship points.

  • Loved Gifts (+80 friendship points): Amethyst , Aquamarine , Jade , Ruby , Topaz , Emerald , Lemon Stone , Omni Geode , Lava Eel , and all universally loved gifts.

  • Liked Gifts (+45 friendship points): All universally liked gifts, all artifacts, Cave Carrot , and Quartz .

  • Disliked/Hated Gifts (negative friendship points): Avoid all mushrooms, foraged items, and universally hated gifts (excluding artifacts).

Movie Theater Interactions:

Movie Theater Once the Movie Theater opens, invite the Dwarf. He loves all movie selections but has specific concession preferences: He loves Stardrop Sorbet and Rock Candy; he likes Cotton Candy, Ice Cream Sandwich, Jawbreaker, Salmon Burger, Sour Slimes, and Star Cookie. Other snacks are disliked.

This updated guide reflects recent Stardew Valley updates, ensuring your Dwarf befriending journey is successful. Remember, patience and the right gifts are key!
