Dredge Launches on iOS and Android: Experience Eldritch Fishing on Mobile

Author : Elijah Mar 26,2025

Rising from the ocean depths like a carved soapstone statue of Stygian, antediluvian horror, Black Salt Games' Dredge has finally made its splash on mobile platforms. After a brief delay, this unique blend of eldritch horror and fishing simulation is now available on iOS and Android. With the chilling atmosphere of Lovecraftian terror, the thrill of exploration, and engaging fishing minigames, Dredge is a nautical horror experience you won't want to miss.

In Dredge, you step into the boots of a lone amnesiac fisherman in the Greater Marrow island chain. Your primary task is to catch fish and sell them to the local fishermen. Sounds straightforward, right? However, between the deranged locals, mutated fish, eerie artefacts, and terrifying sea monsters, this game puts even the most intense episodes of Deadliest Catch to shame.

If you've ever played Sunless Sea, you'll find Dredge to be a fully 3D spiritual successor. As the fisherman, you'll navigate the various island chains, upgrade your ship, and haul in increasingly larger and more dangerous catches, along with salvage. But beware: when the fog rolls in at night, the strange beings that scratch at the edge of sanity are the least of your worries!

Dredge Gameplay

Dredge quickly became a fan favorite, and it's easy to see why. The realm of nautical horror encompasses a vast array of thrilling and terrifying themes, while the simple act of navigating the waterways and watching your plucky fishing boat can be as relaxing as the rest of the game is stressful. The graphics strike a balance between stylized and surreal, and with plenty of potential DLC on the horizon, there's a wealth of content to anticipate.

Still not convinced? Perhaps Stephen's review of Dredge will sway you. He awarded it a certified gold rating, praising its atmosphere, performance, and the seamless way Black Salt Games has adapted a myriad of mechanics and user interfaces for mobile devices.
