Uncover the Secrets of Diablo 4's Forgotten Altars and Lost Powers
The Season of the Maelstrom in Diablo 4 introduces Witchcraft Powers, accessed through a compelling questline. These powers, categorized as Eldritch, Psyche, and Growth & Decay, are unlocked by gaining favor with The Coven. This involves completing missions and earning Restless Rot.
While main Altars near the Tree of Whispers are prominent, Forgotten Altars offer a different path to power – Lost Powers. Unlike their counterparts, Forgotten Altars appear randomly within Sanctuary's dungeons, requiring exploration and some degree of luck. The effort is worthwhile, however, as Lost Powers are exceptionally potent.
Unlocking Potent Lost Powers
Discovering all Forgotten Altars yields significant rewards. Here's a breakdown of the Lost Powers and their effects:
Power Name | Effect |
---|---|
Breath of the Coven | Applying a Crowd Control effect or dealing damage with any Witchcraft Effect boosts Attack Speed by X for 10 seconds, stacking per unique Witchcraft Effect. At Rank 8: 40% Lucky Hit chance while bonuses from all three effects are active. |
Hex Specialization | Increases the potency of Hex Effects by X. At Rank 10: 10% increased Critical Strike Chance against Hexed enemies. |
Aura Specialization | Increases the size of Aura Effects by X. At Rank 10: 50% increased Critical Strike Damage against enemies within Aura Effects. |
Piranhado | When an enemy is affected by both a Hex and an Aura, a Piranhado is summoned, dealing X Physical damage over 12 seconds and pulling enemies. Occurs every 20 seconds. At Rank 5: Piranhado targets nearby enemies. |
Remember, once acquired, Witchcraft Powers can be upgraded using Restless Rot from your inventory. Maximize your quest completion to gather sufficient resources.
