Days Gone Remastered: Enhanced PS5 Experience with New Modes and Features

Bend Studio's post-apocalyptic adventure, Days Gone, is getting a remastered release for the PlayStation 5, boasting a range of new features and enhancements. Announced during Sony's February 2025 State of Play, the upgrade includes support for VRR and PS5 Pro, but the real highlight is the addition of several exciting gameplay modes.

This enhanced edition introduces a permadeath mode for hardcore players, a speedrun mode for those seeking a challenge, and a significantly improved photo mode. Accessibility options have also been expanded. A new Horde Assault arcade mode lets players face off against even larger hordes of Freakers than in the original game.

Days Gone Remastered launches on April 25, 2025. PS4 owners can upgrade for $10. Watch the debut trailer below:

This release continues Sony's trend of bringing enhanced PS4 titles to the PS5. It joins other upgraded games like The Last of Us Part I and Horizon Zero Dawn Remastered.

PC players aren't left out. The $10 Broken Roads DLC will bring the new modes, enhanced photo mode, DualSense support (where applicable), and accessibility features to the PC version of Days Gone.

A recent PlayStation Blog post delves deeper into the improvements. Bend Studio states the PS5 version is optimized for the console, offering Performance and Quality modes. PS5 Pro users will experience further visual enhancements and take advantage of DualSense features such as haptic feedback and adaptive triggers.

Days Gone Remastered will be available for $49.99. Pre-orders begin tomorrow, with early bird bonuses including eight PSN avatars and five in-game unlocks. For a complete recap of the State of Play announcements, check out our summary here.
