The mobile strategy tower defense game, Code Geass: Lost Stories, is ending its global run. While the Japanese version will continue, the global servers will shut down on August 29th, 2024. This means no new downloads, purchases, or logins will be possible after that date. The game's global social media presence will also cease on the same day.
Developed by f4samurai and DMM Games, and published by Komoe, based on the popular Code Geass: Lelouch of the Rebellion franchise, the game launched globally in September 2023, falling short of its first anniversary.
Reasons for Closure:
While official reasons haven't been stated, low download numbers and generally unfavorable global reviews are likely the primary factors. Many licensed anime gacha games struggle to maintain player bases outside Japan due to lower spending habits. The game's blend of RPG, action, and tower defense elements, while potentially appealing, couldn't overcome these challenges.
Japanese players can still access the game on the Google Play Store.
