Stellar Blade's Festive Holiday Update: A Cozy Christmas in Xion

Stellar Blade is decking the halls (and Xion) for the holidays with a new event launching December 17th! This update brings festive costumes, decorations, a mini-game, and a new way to manage seasonal content. Let's dive in!

New Holiday Outfits and Decorations

Get into the holiday spirit with brand-new Christmas-themed attire for Eve and her companions! The update includes:

  • Santa Dress (Eve)
  • Rudolph Pack (Drone)
  • I’m No Santa (Adam)

Eve can complete her look with a Santa Girl hairstyle and accessories like Snow Crystal Glasses, Wreath Earrings, and Sleigh Ear Cuffs. Xion itself is transformed with warm lights and festive red, green, and white decorations, extending the cheer to The Last Gulp and Eve's camp. Enjoy the new seasonal background music, "Dawn (Winter)" and "Take me away," for a relaxing atmosphere.

A New Mini-Game Awaits!

The update introduces a fun mini-game in Xion. While details are scarce, it appears to involve shooting targets on a holiday-themed drone for special rewards.

Control Your Seasonal Content

A new option lets you manage seasonal events, including the Nier:Automata DLC, in the game's settings under "Gameplay" -> "Seasonal Event Content." Choose from:

  • Auto: Automatically enables or disables seasonal content based on the season.
  • Disable: Deactivates seasonal content regardless of the season.
  • Enable: Activates seasonal content regardless of the season.

Note: Changing this setting requires a restart from your most recent save.

Mixed Reactions from Fans

The update has been largely well-received, with many fans playfully dubbing Eve "Christmas Eve." However, some players have expressed concerns about the frequency of event updates in a single-player game with a relatively short playtime (around 30 hours). The need to restart the game to fully experience the seasonal content is another point of contention.

While the short playtime of Stellar Blade might make repeated playthroughs necessary to fully enjoy the seasonal content, the festive additions offer a fun and immersive holiday experience for players. For more on Stellar Blade, check out our dedicated article!
