Indie game developer Sander Frenken has revealed that his upcoming strategy game, Battledom, is currently undergoing alpha testing. This RTS-lite title serves as a spiritual successor to Frenken's successful 2020 release, Herodom. Developed over approximately two years by the part-time developer, Battledom closely resembles Frenken's initial vision for Herodom.
Battledom introduces flexible RTS combat mechanics, allowing players to freely maneuver units across the battlefield. Players directly target enemies and manually control siege weapons for devastating attacks. Strategic formations enhance gameplay, adding a layer of tactical depth.
Players earn coins to recruit units, initially equipped with basic weapons and no armor. Customization is key; players can equip units with various weapons and armor pieces, each impacting stats such as range, accuracy, defense, and attack power.
Resource gathering is essential. Players collect resources like wood, leather, and coal within their village to craft these upgrades at the blacksmith, magician, or other specialized crafters.
Frenken is renowned for Herodom, currently holding a 4.6 App Store rating. This game features over 55 collectible heroes, 150+ units and siege weapons, and historically-inspired battles. Progression unlocks new hairstyles, body types, crops, and farm animals.
Interested players can participate in the Battledom alpha test by downloading TestFlight on their iOS device. For updates and news, follow Sander Frenken on X (formerly Twitter) or Reddit. His other games are available on the App Store.
