MiHoYo, the Chinese developer behind HoYoVerse, is making waves with its upcoming game, formerly known as Astaweave Haven. Even before a proper reveal, the game is undergoing significant changes, and its name has been altered to Petit Planet.
If you're a fan of gacha games or RPGs, you may have already encountered mentions of Astaweave Haven. However, official details from MiHoYo have been scarce. What we do know suggests a departure from HoYoVerse's typical open-world gacha formula.
Instead of another gacha RPG, Petit Planet appears to be leaning towards a life simulation or management game, reminiscent of titles like Animal Crossing or Stardew Valley.
The name change itself is a welcome one. "Petit Planet" sounds charming and hints at the game's likely genre, differentiating it from MiHoYo's established gacha RPGs.
Release Date Uncertainty
The game's development is ongoing, with no official release date announced. Astaweave Haven received approval in China for PC and mobile platforms in July. The trademark for Petit Planet was registered by HoYoVerse on October 31st, and is now awaiting approval in the US and UK.
Given MiHoYo/HoYoVerse's history of rapid releases (consider the quick succession of Zenless Zone Zero after Honkai: Star Rail), we can expect a relatively swift launch following name approval. Hopefully, we'll soon see gameplay footage and further details.
