The game features two main variations: "Flip Fool" (Durak podkidnoy) and "Transferable Fool" (Durak Perevodnoy). While sharing similarities, each version has unique gameplay elements. The objective remains the same: be the first to discard all your cards, leaving your opponents as the "fools."
Flip Fool is the classic version. When the attacker runs out of cards to play against the defender, the player to the defender's left takes a turn, playing only one card. The turn then reverts to the original attacker. This continues clockwise until a card is successfully played or no one can play.
Transferable Fool adds a layer of complexity and excitement. From the second round onward, the defender can "transfer" a played card by placing a card of the same rank but different suit onto the table. This shifts the attacking role to the next player clockwise. This can be chained, making for dynamic gameplay.
